MySetup CLI guide
Your skills, from the terminal
The MySetup CLI is a preview. Commands may change before the full release.
The MySetup command-line client keeps your skill library in sync on desktops, servers and dev containers. It works without a desktop app, and without an account for your local library.
Install
macOS
Install with Homebrew. Homebrew keeps MySetup up to date with your other tools.
brew install mysetupai/tap/mysetupLinux
Run the install script. It downloads the archive for your computer from mysetup.ai, checks its signature and SHA-256 checksum and installs into ~/.local/bin without sudo. You can read the script first at mysetup.ai/install.sh.
curl -fsSL https://mysetup.ai/install.sh | shOr download the archive from the download page, check it against the published checksum and copy mysetup into a folder on your PATH.
Windows
Install with Scoop. It installs MySetup for your user account only, with no administrator rights needed, and keeps it up to date.
scoop bucket add mysetup https://github.com/mysetupai/scoop-bucket
scoop install mysetup/mysetupOr download the zip from the download page, check it against the published checksum and put mysetup.exe in a folder on your PATH. The Windows preview is not code-signed yet, so Windows may ask you to confirm before it runs.
Check it worked with mysetup --version, then run mysetup doctor to check your setup.
Update
Update MySetup the way you installed it: brew upgrade mysetup, scoop update mysetup, your package manager for the .deb package, or the install script again. MySetup never updates itself. If background sync is on, run mysetup service restart afterwards.
Verify a download
Each release has a SHA256SUMS.txt file listing the SHA-256 checksum of every download, signed with minisign in SHA256SUMS.txt.minisig.
The MySetup release signing public key:
RWRb7ed0PpQsLY2ls30JciQE8bmyfLp23edRJzDkZEfq8nlMwARPQnxVCheck the checksums file, then the download against it:
minisign -Vm SHA256SUMS.txt -P RWRb7ed0PpQsLY2ls30JciQE8bmyfLp23edRJzDkZEfq8nlMwARPQnxV
shasum -a 256 -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS.txtSign in
Signing in adds Sync and groups. It never uploads your library or publishes anything on its own.
mysetup auth login- Opens your browser to sign in with GitHub, Google, X or Apple, then returns to the terminal.
mysetup auth login --device-code- For SSH sessions, servers and containers. Shows a short code and a link; open the link on any device, check the code and approve.
mysetup auth status- Shows which account you use.
mysetup auth logout- Signs this computer out.
The CLI never asks for your password, and you never need to copy a token.
Status
mysetup status- What is in sync, what is waiting, and anything that needs your review.
mysetup library list- The skills on this computer, which agents see them and whether they sync. No account needed.
mysetup library show <name>- One skill: its folder, agents, files and how to start syncing it.
mysetup doctor- Checks your setup and explains anything that needs attention. Add --verbose for the details.
Add --json to any command for stable, machine-readable output in scripts.
Sync
Only the skills you choose sync. Machine settings, paths and keys never do. A conflict keeps both versions for you to review.
mysetup sync enroll <folder> <skill>- Shows what would sync for one skill, for example mysetup sync enroll ~/.agents/skills release-notes. Nothing uploads until you approve it.
mysetup apply <review>- Approves exactly what a review showed, using the code it printed.
mysetup sync once- Run one sync now, then stop.
mysetup sync status- Show what is syncing.
mysetup sync pause- Pause syncing until you resume, even after a restart.
mysetup sync resume- Carry on syncing.
mysetup sync stop <skill-id>- Stop syncing a skill, by the ID mysetup status shows. Its files stay on this computer.
mysetup sync conflicts- Review versions kept apart, for every skill or for one skill ID.
Background sync
Background sync is off until you turn it on. It runs for your user account only and keeps your library current without a terminal open.
mysetup service enable- Turn on background sync.
mysetup service status- Check whether it is running.
mysetup service disable- Turn it off again.
Groups
Groups share skills with your team or community. Admins approve each release, and you choose the collections you want. Nothing installs automatically when you join. Join a group on mysetup.ai, then receive its collections here.
mysetup groups list- Your groups and their collections, and what is on this computer.
mysetup groups collections <group>- One group's collections, with their descriptions.
mysetup groups review <group> <collection>- See a collection's skills before you receive it.
mysetup groups subscribe <review>- Receive the collection and its updates.
mysetup groups place <group> <collection> --into <new-folder>- Review putting its files in a new folder and connecting them to Claude and Codex, then approve with mysetup apply. Add --agents claude or --agents codex to choose. Sync brings later releases.
mysetup groups agents <group> <collection> both- Change which agents see the collection's skills: both, claude, codex or none. Its files stay.
Uninstall
Sign out first, then let MySetup turn off background sync, then remove the program. Your skill folders stay where they are.
mysetup auth logout- Sign this computer out. Uninstalling does not do this for you.
mysetup self uninstall- Turns off background sync, lists exactly what it keeps and how to remove the program. Add --yes to go ahead.
brew uninstall mysetup- If you installed with Homebrew.
rm ~/.local/bin/mysetup- If you used the install script. Use your package manager for the .deb package.
scoop uninstall mysetup- If you installed with Scoop. Otherwise delete mysetup.exe.
